SPECS

SPECS examines the core of technological and scientific landscapes, exploring environments where technology thrives and how human vulnerability and technological precision are intertwined. This project involves photographing high-tech environments and capturing portraits of individuals who work with or rely on technology. This fusion of human vulnerability and technological precision raises questions: How did we arrive at this point? Where do we go from here? What role can photography play in describing these practices?

At a time when the development of techno-instruments easily outpaces our capacity for reflection, artistic production can offer unique insights. Techno-instruments serve dual roles in science and art, acting as instruments of experimentation, discovery, and invention, while also altering our aesthetic relationship to the world. In this context, the dialogue between a laboratory camera and an artist’s camera challenges us to rethink our relationship with technology.
